Timber uses at least 20% less energy than other construction materials to bring it to a finished state. Timber Frame Construction produces less Air and Water pollution compared with traditional construction methods. It is also recognised as a thermally efficient form of building construction and the heat conserving fibreglass insulation used in their construction contains no ozone-damaging CFCs.
With the new EU Directive on Energy Efficiency coming into force Timber Frame Homes exceed other conventional methods. All homes are now required to have an Energy Performance Label both for letting and re-sale.
