Kenmare Timber Frame Homes is a sister, private, limited company of Tinal Electrical Ltd.
Tinal Electrical, incorporated in 2000 and trading as Atlantic Developments, is a general
building and property development company specialising in residential and commercial
developments in the South Kerry area with specific emphasis on Kenmare and its environs.
As part of their substantial research over a two-year period, key management visited a
number of manufacturing facilities in Ireland, the UK and Germany. A decision was taken
to move into this form of construction due to its many benefits by both property developers
and the general public. The first timber frame homes were built in existing Tinal Electrical
premises in early 2003.

Later in 2003, management visited a specialist timber frame precision-machinery company
in Germany. Impressed by the quality and fully automated nature of the manufacturing
process, management took the decision to establish Kenmare Timber Frame Homes and
the company was incorporated in August 2003 becoming Kenmare Timber Frame Homes Ltd.
Highly skilled, specialist staff were subsequently recruited and were then trained in Germany
in the operation and maintenance of the highly-specified complex equipment.

The manufacturing process in Kenmare Timber FramesHomes is a fully automated,
computer-controlled process with minimal human interference. This results in a superior
engineered product which complies with building regulations and can exceed them.
Management and staff have recently completed the Enterprise Ireland Supply Chain
Management Scheme in order to optimise and achieve quality systems and productivity
goals. Management and staff are currently undergoing the Excellence though People
programme.

The company also commenced inhouse truss manufacturing in January 2007 with
plans to triple manufacturing output over a phased period.
